Totem Building Supplies is a large retail chain with 20 store locations throughout the Province of Alberta. Upon the award of a large CCTV tender, Contract Security Inc. began working with Totem to install a number of large camera systems within their stores, warehouse facilities, and yards.

In 2005, Totem approached Contract Security Inc. to write a security specification that would support new store openings outside of Calgary and Edmonton. A specification was then written to include an enterprise solution which combines card access control with a computerized alarm system. Together, these Guardall products integrate through secure software to deliver effective control across a secured network.

With high resolution CCTV cameras and digital video recorders in place, Totem has complete control of access and alarm permissions to each store together with remote video surveillance. Security implementation further includes the supply of Medeco High Security Locks to protect each building and prevent unauthorized key duplication.

Using a multi layered approach to secure each facility, Contract Security Inc. provides 24/7 alarm monitoring including both burglary and fire protection under ULC guidelines.
